Behavior Basics for Autism
Are you concerned about your child’s behavior?
Does your child’s behavior limit your family from doing things you want or need to do?
This interactive workshop addresses concerns about behavior among children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Adams will provide education about functions of behavior and how to respond most effectively to decrease problematic behavior. You’ll learn tips and tricks for ways to prevent challenging behavior from occurring, tailored specifically for the unique needs of children on the spectrum. Each family participating will receive brief, customized instructions specific to you and your child that you can use as soon as you leave the workshop.
CHILDCARE IS AVAILABLE: Let your child have fun while you attend the workshop and don’t worry about finding a babysitter! If you would like to bring your child, open play for three hours is $14 to be paid to We Rock the Spectrum at entry. Siblings are welcome as well at a discounted rate. If your child needs supervision from employees at We Rock the Spectrum, they are offering a promotion for this workshop - the “We Rock Care” service is $20 for the duration of the workshop (two hours).
Once you register, Dr. Adams will call you to collect payment information and answer any questions you may have.
Please note that this workshop is not appropriate for managing severe behavior. If your child is engaging in significant harmful or dangerous behavior, I recommend working with a professional one-on-one. Please contact me if you are interested in individual parent training sessions.
